The Nitty Gritty...
As we have a limited number of e-bikes at our rental store, we appreciate that if you make a booking with us, you will have the full intention to commit to our service.
Of course, we strive to be sensitive to extenuating circumstances and inclement weather, however, we have a lot of enquires for our bikes and often have to turn hopeful customers away.
If you don’t show up, no one wins. Remember: No one likes a tyre-kicker!
We strive to provide you with good quality bikes and equipment to be sure your experience is exemplary. When you use our equipment, you agree to the cost of repair or replacement. Minor issues such as flat tires, broken chains, nicks, small paint chips, etc are normally considered wear and tear and not your responsibility. However, if you are found to have deliberately mistreated our equipment through lack of care or in excess of what can be considered ‘minor’, or there is more severe damage or breakage due to negligence that requires replacement of parts, or drastically devalues the equipment, you will be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.
A $20 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your rental. Full payment is due prior to the start of the rental service either in cash, by bank transfer, or via our online invoicing service. A small fee of 2% will be charged to help cover our fee for online bookings (Paypal, credit and debit).
Prices are in NZD and charged in NZD, hence exchange rates will be determined by individual cardholders’ banks.
Cancellation & Refunds
All cancellations must be received by phoning our office, or via confirmed email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The following explains cancellation fees for all bike rentals and associated services:
Number of Days Before Pick Up Cancellation Fees
15 days and over: $20 Non-refundable deposit
7 days or less: 50% of rental fee
Day of Pick Up: 100% of rental fee and service fee
No refunds are possible after the rental begins. Refunds take 2-4 weeks to process from the date written or verbal cancellation is received.
We reserve the right to cancel or terminate a rental prior to pickup or drop off for any reason where we consider a customer unfit to ride safely and responsibly within our rental terms, in which case no refund will be issued. Actions of negligence during a rental term will result in termination with no refund.
If we are forced to cancel prior to a rental beginning (ie extreme weather conditions), we will award a 100% refund minus card fees, or agree to an alternate date of rent.
Renter acknowledges that WaihekE-bikes do it's best to deliver and pick up from locations at agreed upon times, but forced majeure or other exceptional circumstances (unusual traffic en route to drop-off or delivery) may cause delays. Renter agrees to adhere to delivery and pick-up times themselves and authorise WaihekE-bikes to charge their credit card if meeting times are not met and additional expenses are incurred due to renter lateness (i.e. parking fees, pre-bookings lost due to exceeded return times etc).
If delivery location does not allow for easy access by our transporter to drop off or pick up bicycles please make additional arrangements. WaihekE-bikes is not responsible for any additional time and expense that may accrue if changes in delivery location or means have to be made. It is renter’s responsibility to know whether the pick up and drop of location is acceptable.
A Rental Contract must be signed by every renter upon delivery.
